Childhood Cancer Academic-Industry Collaborative: Platform Trials

Childhood Cancer Academic-Industry Collaborative: Platform Trials

Dates: 24-25 July 2025

We are delighted that you are attending the Advancing Childhood Cancer Academic-Industry Collaborative Platform Trials: A Multi-stakeholder Workshop, 24-25 July 2025, at the American Association for the Advancement of Science, 1200 New York Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20005, USA.

Collaboratively organized by the Innovative Therapies for Children with Cancer (ITCC), the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation (LLS), the Children’s Oncology Group, and the Multi-Regional Clinical Trials (MRCT) Center, this in-person, solutions-focused event will bring together a diverse group of multi-stakeholder experts specializing in the design and conduct of pediatric oncology platform trials.

The workshop builds on the work of the October 2024 workshop convened by the MRCT Center: Advancing Pediatric Platform Trials

This workshop aims to develop an implementation framework for academic-industry collaborative platform studies that deliver data to support fulfillment of pediatric regulatory requirements (PIPs, iPSPs) and potentially marketing authorization applications, specifically focused on pediatric oncology medicines

A robust discussion-based agenda with small and large group discussions is planned. The multi-stakeholder participants include representatives from industry, academia, patient advocacy, and regulatory bodies with targeted invitations to ensure a productive transatlantic collaboration.

We look forward to working together to achieve the workshop objectives:

  1. To finalize an agreed roadmap for future platform trials, building on current experiences and lessons learnt from representative academic-industry collaborative platform trials in pediatric oncology
  2. To identify any core resources needed to implement the road map

On behalf of the Pediatric Platform Trials Collaborative workshop planning group, we look forward to seeing you at the conference!

The workshop planning committee appreciates the financial support of several organizations, without whom this workshop would not have been possible. The workshop is supported by voluntary contributions from: Cancer Research UK, Life Arc, Solving Kids Cancer, Kick Cancer, Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
