Opportunity to Define Competency Standards for the Clinical Project Manager

February 22, 2019

As part of ongoing efforts the Multi-Regional Clinical Trials Center of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard (MRCT) and the Joint Task Force (JTF) for Clinical Trial Competency have initiated a new workgroup called Clinical Project Managers (CPMs). This workgroup was created for defining and documenting the core competencies required by CPMs, which will build upon the context of JTF Framework. This would include defining the CPM core competencies at an entry, skilled, and advanced level.

The working group is currently comprised of subject matter experts from the pharma and biotech industry, academia, and CROs with a global perspective. The team includes representation from both CPMs and managers of CPMs.

The leadership chairs (Lisa Palladino Kim and Nita Ichhpurani) are happy to welcome additional subject matter experts to help develop and align the core competencies and to actively participate in one of the newly formed sub-teams (CPM Literature, CPM Training/Certificate, and/or CPM Job Description).

Responsibilities:

  • Attend monthly meetings and bimonthly working group meetings
  • Review proposed topics/content
  • Provide input on CPM competencies
  • Support breakout sessions to gather information and complete tasks and assignments

If you are interested to participate in the working group, please email Carmen Aldinger at caldinger@bwh.harvard.eduand provide a paragraph outlining your PM interest areas and experienceOnce we receive your responses, we will let you know our next steps and the proposed timeline.

If you have any further questions on this project, please call or email Nita Ichhpurani and/or Lisa Palladino Kim.
