Program Manager

Hayat Ahmed, MSc, is a Program Manager at the MRCT Center. She joined the Center in August 2017 and has advanced through multiple roles, contributing to strategic initiatives that strengthen global clinical research ethics and inclusion.

Hayat leads and supports several key initiatives within the Representation in Research Portfolio, Oversight and Implementation of Decentralized Elements in Clinical Trials, and Research Ethics Committee Systems Optimization across Africa.

Before joining the MRCT Center, Hayat worked with the John Snow Research & Training Institute and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health on global health initiatives. She supported global health initiatives by tracking and analyzing reports from dozens of implementing partners across multiple African countries to strengthen HIV prevention efforts for young women. She also conducted evaluations of innovative primary care delivery models and analyzed maternal and newborn health data to inform strategies for improving care quality and reducing mortality. Prior to that, she conducted research as a Technical Research Assistant in an HIV/AIDS laboratory within the Department of Infectious Disease at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Hayat holds a Master of Science in Global Health and Population from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Mount Holyoke College.
