Sylvia Baedorf Kassis, MPH, CYT, joined the MRCT Center as a Program Manager in January of 2018. With over 17 years of clinical research-related experience at the University of Toronto, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston University Medical Center, and most recently, Massachusetts General Hospital, her expertise includes ethical/regulatory review, workforce training and capacity building, trial coordination/management and multi-center study oversight. She is also an instructor within the Master of Science in Clinical Investigation program at Boston University School of Medicine and teaches a graduate level seminar entitled Legal and Ethical issues in Clinical Research.
Sylvia’s clinical research interests include understanding trial participants’ experiences in research, supporting research coordinators through networks and training, and ensuring researchers have access to relevant information that supports the ethical and compliant conduct of studies involving human subjects and their data/samples.
Sylvia possesses a Master of Public Health degree in Global Health from Boston University School of Public Health (2008) and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto (2001). She is also a Certified Yoga Teacher (2011) and trained in mindfulness techniques that support personal and professional achievement.
