Lisa Murray has joined the MRCT Center as a Health Literacy Research Intern for the summer of 2018. She is a Master of Public Health candidate at Boston University School of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, and she received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Minnesota in 2016. She is splitting her time this summer between the MRCT Center and Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program, where she is helping to implement a text messaging study among a group of people experiencing homelessness.
Lisa previously worked on research at the University of Minnesota examining food deserts and the impacts of remedial policies therein, which is where her interest in public health research was ignited. Academically she is pulled towards disparities in health outcomes and systems-level opportunities for change, and is excited to use this lens to address Health Literacy in clinical research settings.
